Legislation Introduced to Increase Background Checks for Pennsylvania Teachers

Sen. Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania seeks to expand legislation called the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, which aims to increase resources for law enforcement and start a fund for victims of trafficking. The addition proposed to the US Senate would require schools to conduct comprehensive background checks for all employees that have unsupervised contact with children in order to receive federal funding for teacher’s salaries. Although the senator has stated that this provision is not intended to force schools into background screening, he hopes it will further increase protections for children across the country.

What is this?

There are several types of codes:

Requirements Code:
